Once initial placement is complete, evaluate the sound using a wide variety of music. Since the Evolution Acoustics loudspeakers come with the ability to adjust output of the tweeters as well as the woofers on the MMMiniTwo, MMTwo and MMThree models, we will turn our attention to evaluating and correcting soundstage and image focus.

First of all it is extremely important that you situate yourself exactly on the center line in between the two loudspeakers on the point of the listening triangle. With the loudspeakers firing forward with no toe in, spend some time listening to a wide range of music selections which you are extremely familiar with. Live orchestral music works well for soundstage evaluations and vocals of any type often work well for center image focus evaluations, however, please do not limit the music to only a few types, simply because every recording is different and it is a good idea to set up a system which performs generally well across all categories. At this point you will need to decide what you would like to hear. If everything sounds great, then you have finished setting up your speakers. If, however, you are still not pleased then perform the following changes:

1. If the soundstage is perfect front to back and side to side but there is a lack of center image focus, then toe in the loudspeakers in small increments until you feel that the center image has locked into place.

2. If the soundstage is too forward, wide, and diffuse, with a strong center image focus, then move your listening chair back in small increments until you feel that the soundstage width and depth are correct.

3. If the soundstage is too forward, wide, and diffuse, with a lack of center image focus, then move your listening chair back in small increments until you feel that the soundstage width and depth are correct and then begin to toe in the loudspeakers in small increments until you feel that the center image has locked into place.

4. If the soundstage is too recessed, lean, and narrow, with a strong center image focus, then move your listening chair forward in small increments until you feel that the soundstage width and depth are correct. If you begin to lose center image focus, simply start toeing in the loudspeakers.

5. If the soundstage is too recessed, lean, and narrow, with a lack of center image focus, then move your listening chair forward in small increments until you feel that the soundstage width and depth are correct and toe in the loudspeakers in small increments until you feel that the center image has locked into place.

Following these general guidelines will help you to customize the presentation of your loudspeakers.
